On March 29th,
2002, I had my first official website release party
for CherieRoberts.com. This was the first of three parties scheduled
for the last week of March through the second week of April. The
LA
club was packed, and so many people dropped in to say hello and
to
congratulate me on my completion of the site. I partied it up for
a few
hours, but the relief had not set in... I had yet another party
to get
to in less than twenty-four hours. So what, you say? Well, I was
six
hours away from the second party and had a morning radio show
promotion to do. But you knew that, silly...
We
hauled ass from the club at about 1:00am and headed straight
for my Mom's. We (we being me, David Tan and Brian Bobila
of ModfxModels.com) got to my Mom's at around 5:00am, took
a half hour nap and bathroom break, and headed straight to SF.
We got into the radio station just in time for my plug! I didn't
even
get to change! I was lucky that the morning show didn't notice.
:)
Maybe they did and were embarrassed to point out the bed head.
Ah well, as long as it wasn't on the air, right? BTW, lotsa thanks
to
the help from the Wild 94.9 Doghouse!
From there, we headed back to my Mom's and slept all day. I
almost didn't get up to go to my next party but Moms smacked
me around a couple of times and got me outta bed. Thanks Mom!
I was a bit stressed getting to the club because I was worried
about hotel accomodations and all of that nonsense but everything
fell
into place at the last minute. The San Francisco party was well
worth the trouble, and I felt well received in my native Bay Area.
Many friends dropped in, both old and new, and quickly made
me feel at home. Heck, I was so warmly welcomed that I
thought of coming back until everyone reminded me that I had
been banished. Bah! What does the king know anyway?
So that's the breakdown on that trip... we ended up staying at
a friend's hotel in Oakland called Ibiza (I'm sure you Bay Area
party people know where I'm talking about), and shot some
great stuff there. All in all, it was a success. Woo hoo! Lots
of thanks to the promoters, Proof Positive in LA, and
Abzolut in San Francisco, and to ModFXModels. I'd
also like to thank all of my dear friends, family, and supporters
for coming out! I love you! Check out the pics below!
